The hotel Astoria, formerly Astoria Belgrano, is situated in the impressive scenary of Genoa of the end of the century.
In 1860 the building which represents the neo classical and Liberty style was erected by the well-known architect Barabino for the Marquis Serra family. This project was intended to meet the necessities of the new developing bourgeouse (already at the time, as well as today, there was a private bathroom in every room). Genoa responded by combining the sober austerity of the neo-classical style with the floreal ornaments of the Liberty style.
The inside reflects the elegant atmosphere that welcomes the visitors, and the reception, the hall, the restaurant (which now has become as the breakfast room) and the elavator emphatize the elegant and clear design of the building. The rooms, many of wich still appear in the original elegant design, the lobby with the ceiling decorated with frescos, together with the renovated rooms are located on six floors and reflect the classic elegance of Genoa.
The hotel also disposes of a bar, a meeting room and a private parking.
